I will be a contributing author for a new SharePoint Book coming out in the fall, Seven Office Business Applications (similiar to the book given at last year’s TechEd) published by Microsoft Press. This is my first time working with Microsoft Press (other times with WROX / Wiley), and I am very excited to be involved in one of their projects.
I am particularly excited about this certain publication because I will be contributing on the two things that I enjoy most about SharePoint and Office, the Web Site and Security Framework (super exicted about the Security Framework OBA I will be developing, I am think maybe something around IRM and user management within an Office client or something) and Enterprise Search (still kinda tinkering around with solution ideas about what I am going to do with this one).
I think that the neatest part about it will be that the solutions presented are not just going to be code snippets that you can intergrate here and there. They will be full-fledged solutions that you can immediatly put to work in your environment, even if you are not a developer. However, developers will be able to tap into the rich code provided to extend pre-existing applicaitons, or to develop other orphaned solution of their own choosing.
